Principal’s Report

• PARCC testing finished on April 14
• Kindergarten open house Thursday, April 21, 2016
• Bike or Walk to School Day May 10 – will have parade with bikes, kids can decorate bikes, will bring bikes that don’t have locks inside school
  • Lutheran General offering helmets for sale – money due Monday
  • There will be a presentation May 6 on bike safety
  • Student council is also working on things for that day
• End of the year picnic schedules handed out
• Awards Assembly – June 2 asked if PTO could provide money for books to give to students who have turned in all of their reading logs ($300) – approved
• Tuesday, April 19 – opening presentation for Artist in Residency (Looking Glass)
  • May 11 – parent presentation
• Field Day – May 19 rain date May 20 (PTO provide bounce house)
• Back to School picnic for the fall will be August 25 first week of school

Treasurer report

• See handout – budget is sound
• still have several end of year expenses (bounce house for Field Day, Artist in Residency, end of year picnics, etc)

President/Committee Reports

• Pretzel recap- extending pretzel sales.  Due date tomorrow (04/15) for first box monies or excess pretzels not sold.  Lisa to call and see if we can return unopened boxes, will use some pretzels for Teacher Appreciation
• Spirit Wear – will do one more order, order must be in by April 28 or will be returned, check or exact cash
• Kindergarten Open House – April 21 – Erin working on handouts to give parents – will sell pretzels and have Spirit Wear out – volunteers to help out – Dawn to get cash box and change
• Teacher Appreciation – planning meeting tomorrow April 11 at Dawn’s house
• May 6 Dance party – deposit given for DJ, Hot Shots one of the partners with the Des Plaines park district offered to donate $100 towards DJ in exchange for logo on flyer and will come out for a warm up at the beginning of the dance
• Dine and Share – April 28 Potbelly 5p-8p
• End of Year Field Day, Field Trips, Class Picnics
  • Class picnic $/kid
  • 5^th grade picnic – shirts?
• Check signing turnover – going to remove Kim and Julie from account, add Erin and Lisa – Dawn, Brian (Co-Treasurers) currently on account – will find day to go to bank
• May meeting – transition new President, plan Field Day and next school year beginning of year events
• Brian and Erin provided update from Parent Communication Council meeting
